Tournament of Champions[]
On the tournament of champions, he appeared in the second quarterfinal and beat two players (Steve Reynolds and Seth Alcorn) and went to the semifinals. For the semifinals, he answered incorrect only one but he answered the most responses correct, won by $1 to advance to the finals. On the day 1 of the finals, he did very well and bet $3,000 in the final Jeopardy!. In the next day of finals, he answered six of thirty responses correctly and receive the $50,000 for the first runner-up.
Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions[]
After leading going into Final Jeopardy! in his UToC Round 2 game, Tom lost to Michael Rooney when Tom wrote "Edward I" instead of "Edward the Confessor" in his response and Fred Ramen's wager from second place neglected to cover Rooney.[2]
