In the third quarterfinal game, he faced off against Rishab Jain and Caroline Trammell. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 25/28 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). He and Rishab got Final correct, but after he failed to make a cover bet and losing to Rishab (in a come from behind win), he received a wildcard with his $19,999 while Caroline received $5,000 as her $6,600 was not enough.
In the first semifinal game, he faced off against Rebecca Rosenthal and Jordan Goodson. Throughout the first two rounds, he came up with 26/27 correct responses (including 1/1 Daily Double). Everyone got Final correct. William advanced to the finals while Rebecca and Jordan received $10,000.
In the finals, he faced off against Hannah Sage and Dhruv Gaur. Throughout the finals, he came up with a combined 40/45 correct responses (including 1/2 Daily Doubles). He and Hannah got 1/2 Final Jeopardy correct, but after losing to Dhruv (in a runaway game and $100,000), he received $50,000 for first runner-up.
