Worst Cooks in America features two-acclaimed chefs put seemingly hopeless home cooks through a 10-day culinary boot camp in this reality competition series where at the end, the most improved cook wins $25,000.

Premise[edit | edit source]

The show takes 12 to 16 contestants (referred to as "recruits") with poor cooking skills through an eight-week culinary boot camp, to earn a cash prize of $25,000. The recruits are trained on the various basic cooking techniques including: baking, knife skills, temperature, seasoning and preparation. The final challenge is to cook a restaurant quality three-course meal for three food critics.

Catchphrase[edit | edit source]

"Please turn in your apron!"

Controversy[edit | edit source]

On January 23, 2021, it was reported[1]that the 20th season was pulled after a champion named Ariel Robinson was charged with child murder in the death of a 3 year old girl in Southern California. They face counts of homicide by child abuse in the death of their adoptive daughter.
