Yolanda Vega was born Yolanda Antequera. Born on December 10, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, Yolanda started out as a bookkeeper when she graduated from Hunter College. She met her husband Miguel Vega during her weekend travels to Albany in 1986. Then in 1990 she was encouraged to audition for the New York Lottery hostess with other women. While thinking she wasn't going to get the job, she went to the audition anyway, only to realize that she got the job. Yolanda became the New York Lottery personality on February 5, 1990, and she continues to hold that job to this day.
When on the air, Yolanda identifies herself as "Yooooolannnnda Vega".
