You're On Your Own was a short-lived primetime game show where contestants could use anything on the stage to find an answer to the question that was posed by the emcee (Steve Dunne).
Gameplay[]
This was a game show where contestants could win money not for how much they knew, but for how fast they could find the answer. The studio was filled with all sorts of reference material and the faster a player could find an answer the more money he/she won, with a possible grand prize of $25,000.
By the end of the show's run, the game was changed to one in which players who answered questions incorrectly had to perform a stunt.
Studio[]
Mansfield Theater, New York City, NY
Trivia[]
- While the set was filled with all sorts of reference material, it also included a telephone. Players soon began using the phone first to find whatever answers they needed, resulting in the format change.
- The pilot episode survives at the Paley Center for Media, but the series itself is presumed lost.
